  1. Trendy is the last stage before tacky.
  2. Never use the word “cheap”. Today everybody can look chic in inexpensive clothes (the rich buy them too). There is good clothing design on every level today. You can be the chicest thing in the world in a T-shirt and jeans — it’s up to you.
  3. If you want to reinvent a newly impeccable you in the most modest of outfits, don’t skip on makeup, and be sure to have flawless skin and hair. That will have more impact than expensive clothes.
  4. You cannot fake chic, but you can be chic and fake fur.
  5. Luxury is the ease of a t-shirt in a very expensive dress.
  6. Reinvent new combinations of what you already own. Improvise. Become more creative. Not because you have to, but because you want to.
  7. Think pink but don’t wear it.
  8. Don’t dress to kill, dress to survive.
  9. Buy what you know works for your body and only buy something if it fits well.
  10. Don’t use expensive clothes as a screen for your personal doubts. Be proud of yourself and not only because you wear expensive designer clothes.
  11. Dress for yourself and the man you love. Women dressing to impress other women — forget about that. It’s a very bad way of thinking.
  12. Don’t wear what you question, wear what you think is right for you.
  13. Black, like white, is the best colour! They both look great with added colour touches like red.
  14. Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants.
  15. A respectable appearance is sufficient to make people more interested in your soul.
